Tamil: A Peerless Classical Tongue

Tamil: A Peerless Classical Tongue

On the shores of time, where ancient sands whisper,
Sprang sparks of speech—the seed of Tamil!
Generations bore the Sangam on their brows, singing—
A flood of verse, unstoppable as a river’s silent roar!
The Silappathikaram dripped honeyed wisdom,
The Manimekalai wove tales of a culture’s soul.
Love, war, forests, hills—the land’s heartbeat
Etched in Agananuru and Purananuru’s scroll!

Letters, words, rhythm, metaphor—a loom of rules,
The Tolkāppiyam laid the foundation’s stone.
Tradition’s gems strung into garlands of growth—
A sanctuary where consonants wed vowels’ tone!
Sanskrit, Greek, Latin—elders of the world,
Bowed to Tamil’s spirit, unmatched and unfurled.
Millennia flowed, yet its waters stay pure—
A language’s roots chant, timeless and sure!

Thiruvalluvar’s ethics, Avvaiyar’s cradle songs,
Kamban’s epic dreams, Bharathi’s fiery tongue—
Ottakoothar’s wit, Pattinathar’s tears of bliss,
All reign in Tamil’s boundless literary abyss!
Bharathidasan’s rebellion, Kannadasan’s rhyme,
Modern voices roar in prose, verse, and pantomime.
A volcano of words, forever aglow—
Tamil’s flame dances, refusing to slow!

Temples of Madurai, Thanjavur’s towering lore,
Chidambaram’s Nataraja—cosmic dance’s core!
Eelam’s pulse, Singapore’s streets, Malaysia’s cry—
Tamil echoes worldwide, beneath every sky.
Carnatic ragas, Thevaram’s sacred hymns,
Villupattu’s drum, Therukoothu’s vibrant whims—
Life’s festivals dyed in Tamil’s fiery hue,
A heritage no other land ever knew!

Colonial shadows loomed, but Tamil stood tall—
“Write! Read! Revolt!” rose the defiant call.
Rebel poets, silver screens, digital streams—
The language thrives, electrifying modern dreams.
English, Spanish, Mandarin—new tongues may rise,
Yet Tamil remains the first lullaby, the ancient skies.
A child’s first word, a temple tower’s chant—
classical symphony no era can supplant!

Science now speaks Tamil on the moon’s cold terrain,
AI, robots, and cyberspace hum its refrain.
Let the world know—this tongue is no relic of dust,
But a living cosmos, evolving, robust!
To lose a language is to suffocate a soul—
Tamil is our ancestors’ scar, our heartbeat’s scroll.
A thousand more years shall its legacy run—
peerless classical tongue—our oath to the sun!

Tamil, you’re an ocean—deep, endless, vast!
Sangam’s youth, today’s fire—all merge in your past.
A day without you is a day without breath—
To define you to the world? Even silence speaks your depth.
